When Faced With an Intimidating Task

When faced with intimidation, stand tall and walk towards it because you will gain strength.

When faced with an insurmountable challenge, keep hiking up the hill because you will gain strength.

When your truth does not match public opinion, speak your truth because you will gain strength.

When your fight is for others AND yourself, do not stand down because you will gain strength.

When you have a pure heart and pure intentions, do not turn a blind eye because you will gain strenth.

When the good does not outweight the bad, it is OK to put an emphasis on what is bad. Even if the good does outweigh the bad, it is always OK to emphasize what is bad. A team is only as strong as its weakest link and social structure is a type of team. Do not let other people try to tell you that you are ungrateful for raising concerns. Do not let other people tell you who you are. Only you know your true intentions and if others cannot see that, it is not your fault, it is theirs for not searching to understand the root of your concerns and behavior.

It is not always easy to do the right thing. In fact, the bigger your goals are, the more difficult it is to do what is right. We have been closed in our houses and forced to learn more about ourselves for nearly a year. Do not let that time and that knowledge go to waste. Do what you believe in, it is never to late to start, but it could be if you postpone it. We cannot create a better world if we continue doing the things that allow problems to persist.

I encourage all of my readers to think about what they do in their life that makes them question their actions. Do you question the action because other people are not doing the same thing? Do you question the action because it does not feel true to yourself? If you are doing something that does not feel true to yourself, sit with that action and understand why it feels untrue. Analyze it, think about it. Whether or not you find the answer right now is irrelevant, but practicing this will bring you closer to understanding yourself and your purpose.

Much Love,

Val

    • I love this response! I also hate confrontation, so I can tell you from experience that the liberation I feel for standing my ground on something I know is right is completely unmatched by any “satisfaction” I have ever gained by playing it safe. Stay strong! I believe in you and you are so welcome for the reminder!
